Have you ever had an overwhelming urge to bless someone just because you love them, care about them and want to lighten their load a little? Have you ever struggled for ideas? What do I give? A small handmade gift? A note? Something more meaningful and memorable-like time shared or a task fulfilled?
All you know is that your heart is near-to-bursting with the desire to be a light and an encouragement to a particular person or group of people and you absolutely must follow through or burst!
Have you ever been the recipient of a small blessing or note received just when you needed a glimmer of hope or encouragement? It seems that no matter what it was, it lifted your spirits and helped the day seem much brighter knowing someone cared and was thinking about you.
Isn’t it a blessing to ‘pay it forward’? That’s part of what true love is all about-passing it on. As God’s Word says, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ (Acts 20:35)
That’s the idea for this site-Simple Acts of Love- Blessing, Loving and Serving Others-On Purpose. That is the desire of a true Christian heart: to fulfill the love of Christ in a dark and dying world that does not truly understand just what Jesus meant about going the extra mile or loving your enemies via heaping burning coals of kindness upon their heads. To love one another as Christ has loved us and gave Himself a ransom for us; to show the world His love, by our love one for another.
Here you may find ideas we can use to extend our hand to the poor, whether that be the literal poor or the poor in spirit. Ideas we can use to lift someone’s head, bring them a smile, grant them some hope or lift them from despair. Ideas we can use for celebration or just to plain ‘ole shower them with love!
